"Dear God,
allow me to see balance in a way that I can understand."
Greetings! Our theme is Balance at DailyAffirm, http://www.DailyAffirm.com. This second week of the month we work with receiving and accepting balance. Following today’s affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process. See top tabs and navigation bar links for more information and resources.
About Today’s Affirmation
This is one of my favorite affirmations. I like its simplicity. You can only see your world look through your own perspective. Your lenses and preferences and backgrounds and ways of seeing are different from others’. Some individuals may be stimulated into understanding balance by seeing children in a playground on a seesaw or by watching a river flow gently on a warm spring day or by feeling a glow. Others may understand balance by getting sick and recovering or by losing a job and finding one that is more suitable than the first. Still others may learn about balance by going on a spiritual retreat or workshop.
About Your Process
When I use the word "balance" or the phrase "energetic balance" in the context of my consulting work, I thing of all parts being in harmony or disharmony with each other — as a symphony. I look at many different layers and levels of the energy field, balancing the energy within each. I balance the energy moving from the top down and the bottom up. I also notice how parts of one layer or level balance or communicate with others (e.g. how the liver is processing anger; how a person’s solar plexus is managing a job conflict). So, I perceive balance as related to (and sometimes synonymous with) clarity, communication, harmony, peace, health, love, and light. As part of your understanding balance more deeply for yourself, consider the words and concepts and experiences that you associate with balance.
