About Today’s Affirmation
By "understand the meaning of" I mean more than simply being able to present a definition of the word "love" that appeals to the intellect. You can only truly understand love through feeling love, through loving, through living love. I borrowed the idea for the second sentence from Brother Bob who wrote the books: Please Remind Me, I am the Presence of Love and Real Feelings. I remember as a little girl seeking and finding meaning in events and conditions. It seemed a natural endeavor. I rarely asked "why," even at a very young age. I was far more interested in "how?" and "what?" and also asked "where?" and "when?" Sometimes I did ask "why?" but I did not seem to get the answers I was looking for with that question.
About Your Process
So, as you explore the meaning of love, you may want to be attentive to the way in which you ask your questions of yourself and others. What does love mean to you? Do you desire (or want or need) to deepen the meaning of love? How might you do that? How do you experience love in your life? How do you know that you love someone or something? How well do you love yourself?
