"I move my attention away from thoughts
that suggest there is no hope.
I put my attention on a more pleasant thought."
… Greetings! Our theme is Hope at DailyAffirm, http://www.DailyAffirm.com. This first week of the month we work with releasing and cleansing non-hope. Following today’s affirmation are comments about the affirmation and suggestions for your process. See top tabs and navigation bar links for more information and resources.
About Today’s Affirmation
The second sentence in today’s affirmation directs your attention to something wanted. Much that is displayed on television, in the movies, in the newspapers, and in idle chatter all suggest there is little or no hope about certain issues or conditions. Placing a magnifying glass on an obscure unpleasant event and generalizing about it is irresponsible. I encourage you to see beyond the still snap shot of a single event into the infinite video tape that says that all is well. This is the vision of hope that those in despair want to catch. Shift your attention from what you do not want to what you want. And then do it again. And again.
About Your Process
Several years ago at a conference, I heard a workshop presenter tell a story about her experience with one of the Archangels. It was a conversation about the antichrist. The angel said to this woman, "The antichrist is alive and active on the planet and his name is …" The woman interrupted him, saying that she really did not want to know the name of the antichrist. The angel ignored her comment and continued, "… and his name is "hopelessness." So, your job today is to be certain that hopelessness does not get a foothold in you. The only way to do that is to give or shift your attention to hope, to a positive thought, or to a happy situation.
About My Free Offerings; About My Services
I’m often asked why I don’t make a mandatory charge for DailyAffirm because of its value to subscribers and the time I devote to it. Here is my position and history: My inner guidance when I began DailyAffirm in 1994 was to offer it free of charge, an action I do not intend to reverse as long as I am able. I can do this because I have wonderful clients who pay for my services. In addition, folks tithe to me, send money to support my work without ordering specific products or services, and recommend my
services to others.
In June, 1996, I presented an optional/ voluntary suggested fee of $25 so that those who wish to make a monetary contribution would know how and where. You can use the link on the top navigation bar, if you want to make a contribution. That will lead you to further information. The voluntary contributions arrive in all amounts and have been gratifying. The Universe is an infallible computer. Thank you.
