November 12, Positive Affirmation for Surrender
"Surrender, you are my friend.
I know you will not leave me in despair or confusion."

About Today’s Affirmation
The concept of "friend" as used in this affirmation is the ideal friend. The ideal friend is one to whom you can communicate openly, with whom you are honest and can make mistakes, and one whom you can trust with your deepest thoughts and secrets. When you make surrender your companion, you can go places you could not go alone. If you dip into despair or confusion, you can ask your friend, Surrender, to be with you so that you can more easily surrender to your higher consciousness.
Keep in mind that you can also make despair and confusion your friends. But that is another kind of friendship, which I suggest perceiving in this way: Your friend Despair (or Confusion or Fear or Doubt) knocks at your door. You open the door and decide if you’ll let Despair in today and for how long "Oh, come in. You may stay for five minutes" is an appropriate invitation, otherwise Despair might stay all afternoon and expect to stay the night and then after a few weeks finally leave, maybe.
About Your Process
Reflect today about the meaning to your life if you begin to treat Surrender as an ideal friend. What’s your relationship now with surrender — ambivalence? curiosity? doubt? enthusiasm? How do you feel about surrender? Also consider the relationship of despair or confusion or other dynamics relevant to your life. Remember, you are in charge of your own energy field and you have a right to determine who visits, when, and for how long. Identify your true desires and be clear about your parameters in these and other friendships.
