November 4, Positive Affirmation for Surrender
"I release memories that allowed belief in struggle and pain.
I allow resistance to release from me."
… Greetings! Our theme is Surrender at DailyAffirm, http://www.DailyAffirm.com. This first week of the month we work with releasing and cleansing non-Surrender. Following today’s affirmation are comments about the affirmation, suggestions for your process, and information about related articles. See top tabs and navigation bar links for more information and resources.
About Today’s Affirmation
You may not remember the content of the memories you release — they may not even be your memories! Society has elevated struggle and pain to the rank of nobility. Indeed, you can be noble — it’s grand to be a noble person, in any and all circumstances, including struggle. But struggle and pain are not noble. I wrote an article several years ago and challenged subscribers of the DailyAffirm List to a campaign to replace the popular expression "no pain; no gain." This slogan is an example of a belief in struggle and pain. Resistance and pain are partners; resistance leads to pain which leads to more resistance which leads to more pain. So, today, relax. Let an out-breath release struggle and pain and resistance and limiting beliefs.
About Your Process
As you work with today’s affirmation, let resistance leave you, easily and effortlessly. Perhaps the resistance takes the form of resisting this affirmation or the ideas in this DailyAffirm process. Or perhaps you notice you resist someone or something else in your life. Or perhaps you notice someone else’s resistance. It’s helpful to avoid criticism as you release or observe others releasing (or tomorrow you will be releasing the criticism). Awareness is a key to lifting and shifting consciousness. Be gentle with yourself as you notice. Find a pleasant place to re-focus your attention as soon as you complete today’s process.
