About Today’s Affirmation
Many thoughts and images and ideas existing in society suggest or even preach hopelessness. Some people just dare not hope. Hopelessness is flashed across television and movie screens, displayed in the news, and expressed in casual conversations. Joyous, vivacious, positive persons give gifts to the world just by showing up! Joy itself dissolves fear and hopelessness.
You cannot convince a hopeless person to have hope. You can, however, live in a positive state of consciousness, demonstrating love which inspires hope for those who have believed there is no hope for positive change. Hopelessness — no matter where it exists — signals where to put your light. (Incidentally, DailyAffirm explores the theme of Hope in January.)
About Your Process
You personally may not be giving your attention to thoughts and beliefs that there is no hope for positive change. If you do not, let today’s assignment be that you stay attentive to those thoughts that suggest there is hope for positive change. It is a matter of choice where you place your attention. Since life is a series of ever-changing motion, you choose the focus of attention again and again and again.
As you become aware of specific beliefs that are limiting thoughts, you may wish to return to working with the affirmations of July 1 and July 2. You can adjust either or both affirmations to incorporate the limiting beliefs that you discover, if you choose. You will find that writing these affirmations according to the process we have developed will be particularly effective.
